Kaizer Chiefs will be keen on reaching the Nedbank Cup semi-finals when they take on an in-form and impressive Cape Town City.
It will be the third meeting between the sides this season with the two previous clashes in the league seeing both sides winning one game apiece.
This makes for a rather intriguing affair, and with the likes of Golden Arrows, TS Galaxy and Chippa United having already booked their place in the final four, the winner from this game is likely to be seen as favourites for the Cup.
While Chiefs are determined to put an end to their barren patch, City still have the potential of a treble on the cards having already won the MTN8 and are still alive and kicking in the Nedbank Cup and Premier Soccer League (PSL) title race.

Meanwhile, Chiefs are well rested after the international break, but will still be without many of their long-term casualties.
Lebogang Manyama, Itumeleng Khune, Erick Mathoho and Joseph Molangoane among others are still on the sidelines and will miss the match.
Also, adding to Ernst Middendorp’s woes is that promising youngster Nkosingiphile Ngcobo has gone under the knife after picking up a knock in their previous 1-1 draw with SuperSport United in the league. This will throw up a selection headache for the German.
Aside from the injuries, Chiefs’ don’t have any suspensions to worry about and are expected to field a strong team with Khama Billiat partnering Leonardo Castro upfront.
Bruce Bvuma is also set to continue in goal for Amakhosi.
BackpagepixOn the side of City though, head coach Benni McCarthy will hope to return to winning ways following their most recent goalless draw with Polokwane City.
Kermit Erasmus, who has three goals in nine league games is expected to play a major role for the Mother City-based outfit in Mbombela.
Chiefs though need to watch out for the threat of Thamsanqa Mkhize from set pieces and him bombing down the wing.
The full-back has two goals in the Cup and will hope to continue his fine form.
Match Preview
For Chiefs, this is set to be their biggest test of the competition so far.
The Soweto giants came up against the likes of lower league sides such as FC Tornado and The Magic FC previously where they have looked less than convincing.
However, victory against a confident City side will go a long way not only to end the trophy drought but also instil confidence in their campaign.
This promises to be an exciting clash, and with both sides yet to concede in the tournament, a captivating battle of attrition is predicted.
