    THE BIGGER PICTURE

PSG fell behind to a 34th-minute effort from Morgan Sanson, only for Fabian Ruiz to respond seven minutes later. Sanson restored Nice’s lead soon after the second-half restart, however, and Youssouf Ndayishimiye made it 3-1 in the 70th-minute. Former PSG goalkeeper Marcin Bulka came back to haunt them, making an incredible 12 saves, including nine from inside the box.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

PSG’s defeat means the record for the longest unbeaten run in a single season still belongs to the Nantes team of 1994-95. Nantes went 32 games unbeaten en route to the title in that campaign.

    WHAT NEXT FOR PSG?

It is a disappointing blow for PSG, and one that comes just four days before their Champions League semi-final first leg with Arsenal. However, the end of their quest for domestic history could prove to be a blessing in disguise, as it gives Luis Enrique added motivation to rest players for the trip to Strasbourg next weekend to ensure his squad is fresh for the return leg against Arsenal on May 7.
