CCTV footage shows the ex-Denmark forward and two friends walking through Manhattan last Wednesday just seconds before a knifeman approaches them. One of Bendtner's group was stabbed and rushed to hospital, with the 55-year-old treated for face and ear injuries. Now, Bendtner has had his say on the incident.

WHAT NICKLAS BENDTNER SAID
He told Ekstra Bladet: "Yes, I can confirm that it is me in the video. Could it have been me who was attacked? I have no comment about that. But I can confirm that it's me on the video - it's hard to run away from."

Reports state the culprit was later arrested and charged with attempted murder and assault. The suspect was later named by police as 25-year-old Joshua Zinberg, of New York, who allegedly suffers from mental health issues.
