Hansi Flick gives honest reaction after 'intense' Fermin Lopez scores goal before being sent off for wild lunge in incident-packed cameo for Barcelona against Sevilla

Lopez came on at half-time and made it 2-1 within minutes of the restart. However, he was then sent off just after the hour mark for a reckless challenge on Djibril Sow. Despite that, manager Flick didn't lay into his "intense" midfielder, and believes he can learn from the red card.

He said after the win: "Fermín's goal is very important. He is a very intense player and these things happen. It is also a good lesson for him. It will serve him well in the future."

Barca went on to win the game 4-1 despite being down to 10 men for nearly half an hour. While Lopez is now set to serve a ban, the Blaugrana are now just two points behind La Liga leaders Real Madrid after looking out of the title race not long ago.

Flick's team, who will be without the suspended Lopez, are next in La Liga action on Monday night at home to Rayo Vallecano.
