TP Mazembe sign Uganda left-back Ochaya on two-year deal

Five-time African champions TP Mazembe have announced the signing of Uganda international left-back Joseph Ochaya on a two-year deal.

The former Kampala City Council defender has also had previous stints in Ghana with Asante Kotoko and Zambian side Lusaka Dynamos.

“TP Mazembe is pleased to announce the signing of Joseph Benson Ochaya,” announced the club on their official website.

Two seasons ago Ochaya came close to joining South African side Bidvest Wits but the deal collapsed.

He was voted the best left-back in the Zambian Super League last year.

“I am very pleased to have signed for TP Mazembe. By joining a big club, you come to win titles," Ochaya told the TP Mazembe website.

TP Masembe were recently eliminated from the Caf Champions League by Angolan champions Primeiro Agosto and are already reinforcing their squad for next season in Africa.

Ochaya is already training with the Lumbumbashi side but will travel to join his Uganda teammates for the 2019 Afcon qualifying matches against Lesotho home and away.

Uganda host Lesotho next Saturday before playing the same side away in Maseru three days later.
