ISL 2017: FC Goa seal the deal for ex-Barcelona B midfielder Eduardo Bedia

On the transfer deadline day, FC Goa roped in 28-year-old midfielder Eduardo Bedia Peláez, more commonly known as Edu Bedia. Eduardo becomes the fifth Spaniard to join the Gaurs after Sergio Juste Marin, Manuel Arana Rodríguez, Manuel Lanzarote and Ferran Corominas.

The new FC Goa recruit had 14 appearances to his name from his spell at Real Zaragoza in 2017 whom he joined in the month of January from Real Oviedo on a free transfer. Apart from his time with The Whites, Eduardo was a part of the B team of Spanish giants FC Barcelona. During the 2013-14 season, Eduardo played at Barcelona following his move from Hercules CF, having made as many as 39 appearances and netting 7 goals. Eduardo was also a part of Spain's U-21 side, although he could only manage two caps during his time.

The addition of Eduardo takes FC Goa's total of foreigners to seven as the rest of the clan includes the likes of Moroccan Ahmed Jahouh and the retained Portuguese player Bruno Pinheiro. An attacking midfielder by nature, Eduardo will accompany Brandon Fernandes, Pratesh Shirodkar and other domestic players in the middle of the park, alongside his fellow Spanish midfielders.
