Extra Time: Muntari denies slapping football referee

Sulley Ali Muntari has refuted reports that he was involved in a brawl with a referee named Kofi 'John' Terry during a football game with friends in Accra on Monday.

The former Inter and AC Milan midfielder, who currently plies his trade with relegated Serie A side Pescara, was playing seven a side match with teammates including former Ghana midfielders Laryea Kingston and Armah Senegal, as well as 2008 Ghana Premier League goal king Eric Bekoe in a 'Monday Stars' at the Kotobabi Wembley Park but got angry at a point, accusing the referee of bad officiating, according to reports.

He was later booked for a rough challenge, which degenerated into exchange of words with the official, leading almost to a physical fight.
