Former AFC Leopards and Sofapaka midfielder Charles Okwemba made a huge gamble mid this year after ditching Batoto ba Mungu for National Super League side Vihiga United.
A few months down the line and Vihiga are in the Kenyan Premier League after topping the NSL table.
The veteran midfielder is happy he made the move and has achieved his objective.
"It was not the easiest of decisions to move from the KPL to NSL, but I am glad I did it and now we have achieved our objective.
"God has been behind this and all praises go to him. The fans too have been supportive and are the reason why we won the league.

"Next season will definitely be huge for us and we want to do absolutely everything to give the fans something to smile about."
Vihiga finished the season with eighty points.
