AmaZulu FC sign Bonginkosi Ntuli from Mamelodi Sundowns

AmaZulu FC have completed the signing of Mamelodi Sundowns striker Bonginkosi Ntuli.

The burly marksman has joined Usuthu on a season-long loan deal from the Brazilians, who are open to selling the player to the Durban-based club at the end of the campaign.

Usuthu's official Twitter account revealed that the club has an option to sign Ntuli on a permanent deal when his loan deal expires at the end of June 2019.

This will be Ntuli's second spell with AmaZulu having spent the 2014/15 season with the club on loan from Sundowns.

The former Golden Arrows forward hit the back of the net six times in 12 Premier Soccer League (PSL) matches for Usuthu.

Ntuli returned to the Brazilians at the end of the campaign only to be shipped out to Platinum Stars on loan.

The Pietermaritzburg-born player spent three seasons with Stars - scoring 14 goals in 63 PSL matches for the club, before it was relegated to the National First Division (NFD) in May 2018.

Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane and his technical team decided against keeping the player, and he traveled to Sweden for trials at Allsvenskan side Djurgårdens IF.

Djurgårdens were keen to sign Ntuli after the player impressed during a trial stint with the club, but the two parties could not agree on personal terms.

The 27-year-old striker decided to come back home and he was linked with former PSL champions Bidvest Wits and AmaZulu.

Ntuli stated that he is looking forward to working with AmaZulu head coach Cavin Johnson, who is a former Dikwena coach.
