Tottenham and Ange Postecoglou dealt huge injury blow on eve of do-or-die Europa League showdown with Eintracht Frankfurt

Son missed Spurs' Premier League away fixture against Wolves last weekend as the player was reportedly nursing an injury. He was expected to be back for the club's do-or-die Europa League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday, but manager Postecoglou has now confirmed that the South Korean forward has not travelled to Germany with the squad.

Speaking to reporters, the Australian coach said: "Sonny didn't travel and he's the only one who hasn't travelled. He's been struggling with his foot for a couple of weeks now and has been in pain. Everyone else is good. Kevin [Danso] trained and is available."

After holding Tottenham to a 1-1 draw in the first leg of their quarter-final fixture in North London, the Bundesliga club will be confident of progressing to the last four. Spurs are pinning all their hopes on the Europa League tie following a disastrous domestic form that has left them in the bottom half of the Premier League table.

After their Europa League clash this Thursday, the Lilywhites will be back in action in the Premier League on April 21 as they take on Nottingham Forest in a difficult fixture at home.
