Nottingham Forest or Napoli? USMNT star Yunus Musah at centre of bidding war as Premier League side ready to top Seire A champions with £26m offer

Antonio Conte has made a specific request for Musah, believing his dynamic and versatile style suits Napoli perfectly. Despite previously approaching an agreement, negotiations slowed down as Milan considered keeping him, but a summer switch appears to be back on for the United States international.

Nottingham Forest have entered the race for Musah, too, and Sky reports they are ready to offer around €30 million (£26m/$31m), exceeding Napoli's current bid. The Premier League side are promising the 22-year-old a central role in their project, pressuring AC Milan to make a decision. Forest previously secured Dan Ndoye over Napoli this summer.

While Musah reportedly prefers to remain in Italy and join Napoli, he is not opposed to moving to the Premier League. His decision will likely hinge on which project offers the best combination of playing time and career development. Both Napoli and Nottingham Forest present attractive options, but his personal preference may ultimately settle the transfer battle.

Milan have placed Musah on the transfer list following a summer recruitment spree that included Luka Modric, Samuele Ricci and Ardon Jashari. This influx of midfield talent has pushed Musah down the pecking order. Musah, who joined Milan in 2023 for around €20 million, has made 81 appearances with four assists but failed to cement a guaranteed starting spot.
