The evergreen 39-year-old ended the 2023-24 campaign in tears, after suffering penalty shootout heartache in the Kings Cup of Champions final, but he did finish with a flourish in the goalscoring department as he reached 50 in total across all competitions. The Portuguese superstar continues to rewrite the history books.

Ronaldo shattered two more records when reaching 35 goals in the Saudi Pro League – the highest total ever posted across a single season in that division – while also becoming the first man to win Golden Boots in four different countries.

Unsurprisingly, CR7 has picked up another prize as a result. The Saudi Pro League and Al-Nassr have billed Ronaldo as the GOAT when revealing that the all-time great has been recognised as the “No.1 in May” – with there no sign of him slowing down any time soon.

Ronaldo is currently relaxing and recharging with his family at the end of another gruelling domestic campaign, but he still has more competitive action to come as his attention shifts to international matters and Euro 2024.
