Lionesses stars Alessia Russo, Aggie Beever-Jones & Lauren Hemp among nominees at first-ever Festival of Women's Football Awards

There are six nominees for the Goalkeeper of the Year award, five of whom ply their trade in the Women's Super League. Sheffield United's Sian Rogers is the lone representative from the Women's Championship, a league she leads in saves made this term.

There are nine nominees for the Player of the Year award in the defender category. The WSL boasts five of those nominees, with four coming from the Championship.

Five players are nominated for the Midfielder of the Year award, including two names from Manchester City. Sofia Jakobsson, of the London City Lionesses, is the Championship's lone representative.

Seven players are nominated for the attacker award, including England stars Alessia Russo and Aggie Beever-Jones.

Reserved for players aged 23 and under, there are five defenders in the running for the Young Player of the Year award, with the Championship very well-represented in this category.

Meanwhile, the midfielder category for this award is dominated by the WSL, with all six nominees coming from the English top-flight.

Completing the Young Player of the Year nominees are six attackers - three from the WSL, three from the Championship.

Finally, there are 15 players in the mix for the Overseas Player of the Year award, all of whom play in the WSL. Goalkeepers are eligible for this award, too, with two of them making the cut.

There are plenty more awards that will be dished out on April 23, too. The 'On the Pitch' categories are rounded out by Coach of the Year, Fans' Player of the Year and Referee of the Year, with the latter category featuring both grassroots and professional nominees.

There are then five grassroots accolades to be awarded, including Activation of the Year, Club of the Year, Coach of the Year, Volunteer of the Year and Inspirational Changemaker of the Year. All of these categories feature both youth and adult nominees.

Thirteen 'Off the Pitch' awards will also be handed out. These range from accolades like Academy of the Year and Best Fan Experience to Physio of the Year and Ground Staff Team of the Year.
