    The former Barcelona forward is taking on a new challenge for 2024 as she severs ties with Pachuca. Said move is keeping her in Liga MX Femenil, with the prolific 33-year-old excited to be making a fresh start after previously taking in two spells at Barca and also turning out for the likes of Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

    Meanwhile, it is being reported by The Independent that Hermoso is expected to appear in court on Tuesday as she prepares to give evidence against Luis Rubiales – the former president of the Spanish FA. That case relates to the kiss that Rubiales planted onto Hermoso’s lips during the 2023 Women’s World Cup final medal ceremony.

    Hermoso is set to give her version of events in front of a judge, with Rubiales having maintained throughout that his actions were consensual. He was banned by FIFA from all football-related activity after sparking a #MeToo and #SeAcabo [It’s Over] storm and was eventually removed from power in Spain.

    A closed-door session will take place, with state prosecutors accusing Rubiales of sexual abuse and coercion, while he is also alleged to have pressured Hermoso into speaking out in his defence. The presiding judge must determine whether the case should be sent for trial.
