Christopher Nkunku to team up with Harry Kane! Chelsea attacker reaches verbal agreement to join Bayern Munich as Blues eye swap deal involving teenage forward Mathys Tel

France international Nkunku bid farewell to the Bundesliga in 2023 having hit 58 goals across his last two seasons at RB Leipzig. He was looking to embrace a new challenge at that stage, but a stint in England has not played out as planned.

Struggles for form and fitness have seen Nkunku restricted to 42 appearances for Chelsea, with only five Premier League starts being taken in. The Blues are now looking to freshen up their attacking ranks, with teenage frontman Mathys Tel a player in their sights.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have held talks with Bayern regarding 19-year-old Frenchman Tel. He has also spoken with Vincent Kompany about his future, as the youngster – with 81 appearances for the German giants to his name – is still determined to succeed at the Allianz Arena.

He may, however, form part of a swap switch that sees Nkunku take his place. That is because Florian Plettenberg claims that a “verbal agreement” is in place, with “all terms” drawn up. Tel could be included in that package “to make the transfer easier”, with Bayern ready to complete a permanent deal.
