Stuttgart's season is under real pressure. Three points from four Bundesliga games leaves them 15th in the table, level on points with both Hoffenheim above and Hamburger SV below, and the club's long-term squad stability is now an open question. According to kicker's recent report, a significant overhaul after this season looks difficult to avoid. Eight players, including Jeff Chabot, Angelo Stiller, Chris Führich, Maximilian Mittelstädt and Ermedin Demirovic, all have contracts expiring in 2028, and renewing all of them would, in the kicker's words, blow the budget. The club's wage bill has already climbed from 105 million to 163 million euros over three years. Talks with most of those players are on hold until at least January, with Stuttgart's sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth watching how the season develops before committing to any decisions. The one exception is Ramon Hendriks, who attracted interest from Borussia Dortmund last season and could be offered an early renewal. Against that difficult backdrop, Finn Jeltsch provides a genuine bright spot. The 20-year-old defender earned his first Germany call-up under Jürgen Klopp for the Nations League fixtures against Serbia and Greece, with Real Madrid now reportedly monitoring him alongside Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Arsenal. Stuttgart host Paderborn on October 10th, a fixture they will be expected to win, and three points there would at least ease some of the growing anxiety around the club.
