Just as Hugo Broos wished to have all his key men available for the Rwanda match, he was dealt a blow following an injury to forward Lyle Foster.

That saw Stellenbosch's Ashley Cupido being called up to replace the Burnley striker.

Already, Broos was trying to deal with the suspension of Mbekezeli Mbokazi, who received a red card against Zimbabwe, as well as Relebohile Mofokeng and Iqraam Rayners, who are injured.

Bafana possible XI: Williams, Mudau, Modiba, Ndamanre, Sibisi, Mokoena, Aubaas, Mbule, Nkota, Appollis, Makgopa

Zimbabwe's Washington Arubi was uncompromising in goal in the 0-0 draw with Bafana and Broos' side could face the same situation against Amavubi.

Rwanda have a Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper who could frustrate Bafana on Tuesday as he tries to prove that he deserves to be a regular starter for Amakhosi.

Rwanda possible XI: Ntwari, Kavita, Mutsinzi, Manzi, Niyomugabo, B Mugisha, G Mugisha, Muhire, Bizimana, Kwizera, Nshuti

    Head-to-head and recent form

Bafana are coming off a 0-0 draw with Zimbabwe in these World Cup qualifiers, a result which left them heavily relying on the Nigeria vs Rwanda match.

While South Africa are still in contention to go to the World Cup, Rwanda are out of the running for the USA/Canada/Mexico 2026.

The match against Zimbabwe was against a side playing for nothing in this group and that is the same situation with Rwanda.

South Africa go into this match on a 22-match unbeaten run in all competitions under Broos, including March's game against Lesotho, while Rwanda are coming from a home defeat by Benin last Friday.
