The Netherlands completed a dramatic second-half comeback to secure a 2-2 draw against Greece in their UEFA Nations League Group A2 clash on Thursday. The words of the Dutch international and former AC Milan player, who moved from City to Al Qadsiah during the summer, where he earns €20 million a year.
Former Manchester City midfielder Tijjani Reijnders has offered a remarkably candid explanation for his summer move to Saudi Arabia, admitting that the lure of life-changing money was the primary factor. New Netherlands manager Xavi Hernandez has dramatically broken with past policies by declaring that players plying their trade outside Europe will be considered for national selection. The former Barcelona boss insisted that pitch performance is all that matters, offering fresh hope to stars like Tijjani Reijnders, Memphis Depay, and Crysencio Summerville.
Tijjani Reijnders' father has shed light on the real reasons behind the midfielder's controversial transfer from Manchester City to Al Qadsiah. While admitting that massive financial rewards played a part, he explained that steep valuation demands from Europe shaped the move.
