Gor Mahia skipper Haron Shakava calls for early planning ahead of Caf assignment

Gor Mahia captain Haron Shakava has called for early preparation ahead of the 2018/19 Caf Champions League.

Shakava guided Gor Mahia to the 2018 Caf Confederation Cup after K’Ogalo were bundled out of the top tier by Tunisia’s Esperance on an aggregate and the skipper has now appealed to the management to bring on board more players to strengthen the squad.

"We lacked depth in this season's continental campaign and hopefully the new players, who might join us, will help us improve," Shakava was quoted by the Standardmedia.co.ke.

"The competition starts earlier than usual and we must have a team that can compete favourably."

K’Ogalo posted some impressive results in the Caf Confederation Cup but lost to USM Alger in the last group stage match to bid the competition.

The Caf club competitions will kick off in November 2018 until August 2019 in August, a change from the previous editions where they competitions began in February to November.
