Bobby Motaung sings the praises of Kaizer Chiefs head coach Giovanni Solinas

Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung has hailed coach Giovanni Solinas for turning around the club's fortunes.

Motaung said the Italian manager is a perfect fit for the Soweto giants and has lavished the former Free State Stars coach with praise especially for his work ethic.

"The players are responding very well so far, according to what we see. They are responding very well to the philosophy, which has been the Chiefs way, and the energy the person brings to the club," Motaung said on Marawa Sports Worldwide.

"The man is a hard worker, which is positive. For me, he reminds me of some old coaches which we used to have, who are workaholics,” added Motaung.

Meanwhile, Motaung also added that their three-year trophy drought which they endured under former coach Steve Komphela could soon be over because Solinas is hungry for success.

At the beginning of the season, Solinas failed to bag a win out of four Premier Soccer League (PSL) matches where he drew against Mamelodi Sundowns, Baroka, Maritzburg United and Bloemfontein Celtic as well as suffering a loss to Bidvest Wits.

However, the coach managed to register his maiden win when they demolished Cape Town City 4-1 in their fifth PSL match and they have now secured three wins on the trot.

"He's a Chiefs coach that fits the style of play that Chiefs wants to play, so I think given a chance and the spirit that the team has now, we can see good things coming," concluded Motaung.

On the other hand, the Soweto giants are now hoping to continue with their winning momentum when they visit the Highlands Park at Makhulong Stadium on Tuesday, October 2.

Chiefs will also want to move to the top of the table should the likes of Bidvest Wits and Orlando Pirates drop the points next week as they now sit third with 13 points from eight games.
