Super League 2 Overview

Brentford have ruled out sanctioning a mid-season departure for record signing El Hadji Malick Diouf following fresh transfer links to Premier League rivals Chelsea and Liverpool. Having only recruited the 21-year-old Senegal international from West Ham United for up to £40 million in late August, Gtech Community Stadium chiefs consider him untouchable this winter.

Leeds United goalkeeper James Trafford has broken his silence on a testing period at Manchester City, describing the lack of regular playing time at the Etihad Stadium as a "horrendous feeling." The England international returned to his boyhood club with high hopes, only to find himself sidelined following a high-profile transfer window move.

Liverpool full-back Jeremie Frimpong has been proposed to Saudi Pro League heavyweights Al-Hilal as he contemplates a surprise move away from Merseyside after just 18 months. Recruited from Bayer Leverkusen for €40 million in the summer of 2025, the 25-year-old Netherlands international is receptive to starting a new chapter in the Middle East.

Mikel Arteta has lauded Declan Rice's relentless drive to reach the pinnacle of the game following the midfielder's latest inclusion in the England setup. The Gunners boss believes his star man has unlocked a new level of performance that makes him a nightmare for opposition managers to plan against.
