  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    Ronaldo's side dramatically lost the Saudi Pro League game on Friday night, conceding an 89th-minute goal to former Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum. Things got even worse in added time as Duran was sent off for a tame slap on the back of an opposition player's head, prompting Ronaldo to furiously launch the ball off the pitch.

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

    Al-Nassr boast an embarrassment of riches in forward areas, with Duran, Ronaldo and Sadio Mane starting in attack. Despite all that talent to pick from, Friday's defeat probably signals the end of their title hopes.

  • WHAT THE FANS ARE SAYING

    Fans were unimpressed with Ronaldo's antics, with @001Oxygen writing: "Even at 40...Ronaldo still behaves like a kid. He should be punished for kicking the ball away."

    @premliguefrauds posted: "Cristiano Ronaldo’s team mates are on the pitch crying and the captain is nowhere to be seen. Ronaldo had 0 chances created, 0 accurate crosses, 0 successful dribbles, 0 goals. This is his overall game. Never put him in same level as Messi, please."

    It was a similar theme from @johnnycortes, who wrote: "Warning: 40 year old throwing a tantrum. If this was Messi getting away with this without a yellow card, Ronaldo FC tears would turn into a tsunami on this platform"

    @The_Forty_Four posted: "And this was Ronaldo’s reaction… He’s still reacting like a troubled teenager…"

    @CrewsMat10 said: "Cristiano Ronaldo is always complaining"

    WHAT NEXT FOR AL-NASSR?

    Al-Nassr sit eight points off top in the league table with 13 matches to play. Working on the alchemy of that frontline could be the key to an improvement in the 2025-26 campaign.
