    The midfielder has agreed to swap New Jersey for London and will bee announced as West Ham's first signing of the January transfer window later this week, The Athletic reports. The signing of the USWNT star will come as a huge boost to the Hammers, who sit second-bottom of the Women's Super League, ahead of Bristol City on goal difference.

    Mewis joins West Ham after helping Gotham win the NWSL Championship this year. She was also a member of the United States team that crashed out of the Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand at the last-16 stage, losing to Sweden on penalties after playing out a goalless draw over 120 minutes.

    Mewis' move to the English capital will bring her to the same city as her fiancee Sam Kerr, who is currently shining for fellow London side Chelsea. The USWNT star and Australia forward have been in a relationship since early 2021 and got engaged this year.

    The 32-year-old will soon make the move to England with the deal expected to be confirmed soon. She may be able to make her debut for the WSL side when they take on Tottenham in their first match of 2024 on January 21.
