  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Brighton suffered their heaviest league loss since their 9-0 defeat to Middlesbrough in the 1958-59 season in the 7-0 humiliation at Forest on Saturday. In a game where Wood bagged a hat-trick, some Seagulls fans called for the sacking of head coach Fabian Hurzerler and some of the players.

    WHAT THE FANS ARE SAYING

@darren5534 wrote on X: "7 hahahahaha.... Sack the whole team! 🔵⚪️⚽️."

@ryanadsett tweeted: "Absolutely pathetic!", and @markbhafc777 commented: "Time for Hurzeler out."

@gotyouonstrings posted: "Go again and we might concede again and hopefully sack this clown."

@Brightonian_ put: "Embarrassing result. Injuries are no excuse."

And @SamPeters_BHAFC added: "Questions will have to be asked of the manager and the whole squad today. Pathetic by all of them, I hope they pay back the fans who went to that game."

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

The win saw Forest go level on points with second-placed Arsenal, although the Tricky Trees have played a game more than the Gunners. Brighton, on the other hand, are ninth in the Premier League. After this result, Forest will be dreaming of Europe next season. Incidentally, Wood became the first man to bag a top-flight home hat-trick for Forest since Nigel Clough in 1987.
