Kei Kamara became the 10th player in Major League Soccer history to hit the 100-goal mark in the regular-season matches after netting for the Vancouver Whitecaps against the Houston Dynamo.

The 33-year-old joined the exclusive list with a goal from the penalty spot, putting his side 1-0 up on Saturday in the 28th minute.

Kamara's goal have come across six MLS teams, with the forward having also spent a couple of seasons in England during the middle of his career.

His best season came in 2015, when his 22 goals in 33 matches for the Columbus Crew were good enough to see him finish the year as the joint-top scorer in the league alongside Sebastian Giovinco.

The match against the Dynamo also marked the 300th MLS appearance for Kamara, who made his league debut for the Crew in 2006.

The Sierra Leone international has also spent time with the San Jose Earthquakes, Houston Dynamo, Sporting Kansas City, New England Revolution and the Vancouver Whitecaps, the side he currently represents.

Kamara joins Landon Donovan,  Jeff Cunningham, Chris Wondolowski, Jaime Moreno, Ante Razov, Jason Kreis, Dwayne De Rosario, Taylor Twellman and Edson Buddle in the 100-goal club in MLS.

Among active MLS players, Bradley Wright-Phillips is the next closest to reach 100 goals, with the Red Bulls forward currently sitting on 86.

Alberth Elis pulled the Dynamo level in the 40th minute, sending the match to the break level at 1-1, but a Brek Shea goal put the visiting side back in front early in the second half and the Whitecaps held on for a 2-1 win.
