    ‘Man Utd need six big players, not a director of football

    Paul Scholes considers directors of football to be a “waste of time” and believes Manchester United should focus on adding “six big players” to their squad rather than another part of the backroom team.

    Numerous figures with ties to United, such as Rio Ferdinand and Edwin van der Sar, have been linked with a demanding directorial role.

    Scholes, however, is not convinced that such a position needs to be filled, with Solskjaer aware of what is required and more than capable of delivering on his remit by himself.

    Premier League clubs targeting Rangers' Tavernier

    Rangers full-back James Tavernier has the eye of multiple Premier League clubs according to the Daily Mail.

    Brighton and Southampton are both deciding whether to bid on Tavernier, who has scored 13 goals this season in the Premiership, with Burnley also interested.

    Rangers do not want to lose their captain, but offers of around £8 million ($11m) would force them to listen.

    Man United 'keeper Henderson unlikely to leave permanently

    Sheffielf United are hopeful they can land the player for their Premier League return, but admit it's likely to be on-loan.

    The 22-year-old is keen on a return to the club he helped gain promotion, but sees his long-term future at Old Trafford, as does Blades boss Chris Wilder.

    "He's a Manchester United player and there's not talk of a permanent. We believe it will be a loan," Wilder said.

    Rhian Brewster to get Liverpool chance

    Jurgen Klopp is said to be keen to give the 19-year-old a chance to back up Roberto Firmino.

    Metro reports Daniel Sturridge will leave the club when his contract expires and that the manager doen't believe Divock Origi is consistent enough.

    Brewster travelled with Liverpool to Barcelona in midweek after a 14 month injury layoff and Klopp wants to keep a pathway to the first team open for him, and may not sign another striker, the paper reports

    Real Sociedad not interested in signing Everton flop permanently

    Sandro Ramirez is set to return to Everton as Real Sociedad have dismissed the idea of making his loan move permanent, reports Mundo Deportivo.

    The 23-year-old forward has not scored since November 2017 for Everton against Atalanta.

    Ramirez is under contract at Goodison Park until 2022 after joining the club in the summer of 2017.

    Manchester United in for Juve's Joao Cancelo

    Manchester United are in talks to sign unsettled Juventus right back Joao Cancelo according to Nicola Schira of Gazzeta dello Sport.

    The Italian journalist tweeted that the 24-year-old has a bad relationship with Juve coach Max Allegri and that his agent, Jorge Mendes is in talks with the Old Trafford club.

    Real Madrid are prepared to meet the €60 million asking price for Ajax star Donny van de Beek, Marca reports.

    The 22-year-old has catapulted to the top of the shopping list for several of Europe's top teams amid Ajax's incredible run to the Champions League semi-finals.

    Real Madrid are the latest team to show interest in the Netherlands international and seem willing to beat any fellow suitors by matching the Dutch side's valuation.

    Bobic denies Jovic will join Real Madrid

    Eintracht Frankfurt have not agreed to sell Luka Jovic to Real Madrid this summer, sporting director Fredi Bobic says.

    Reports in Spain say a €60 million summer deal has been reached between the two clubs, but the Bundesliga side's director insists there has not been any contact never mind an agreement.

    "There has been no contact with Real Madrid," he told ESPN FC. "For once, I don't have to use a white lie, they really haven't been in touch yet. I know them very well."

    Reis agent confirms Barcelona move

    Groningen midfielder Ludovit Reis has agreed a move to Barcelona, his agent has confirmed.

    The Camp Nou outfit have been following the 18-year-old since September and moved to snap him up recently, agreeing a fee with the Eredivisie side.

    And his agent, Alexander Bursac, has confirmed that a move has been arranged.

    "The clubs are out. For Ludovit this is of course very beautiful," he said. "A top transfer. We will hear this weekend or Monday when we fly to Barcelona to complete the transfer.

    "We still have to sit down for the details, but we want the head coach to see Ludovit working so that he gets an impression of his level, and whether he is able to tap Barcelona's level."

    Mourinho scouting Lille players for next team - Lopez

    Lille president Gerard Lopez has distanced the club from reports they want to appoint Jose Mourinho as coach in the near future, insisting he is instead scouting the French side's players for his next club.

    Mourinho has been out of work since December, when he was sacked by Manchester United. He has since been spotted at Lille's stadium and there have been reports he is set to join the club next summer.

    But Lopez insists that is not the case, suggesting the 56-year-old instead has his eye on a few players he wants to sign for the next team he takes over.

    Barcelona are considering a move for Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette, according to Mundo Deportivo.

    The France forward scored twice against Valencia as the Gunners put one foot in the Europa League final on Thursday, and has emerged as a surprise target for the Spanish champions should they fail in their bid to lure Antoine Griezmann to the Nou Camp. 

    The Spanish champions could offer up Andre Gomes and Samuel Umtiti as makeweights in any deal.
