Monaco send Diop on loan to Sochaux

Monaco midfielder Sofiane Diop has joined Ligue 2 side Sochaux on loan for the rest of the season, it has been confirmed.

The 19-year-old, who can also play on the wings, joined Monaco from Rennes and went on to make 22 appearances last season.

He has not been included in the squad at all this season, though, and the Ligue 1 side have opted to let him gain experience in the second tier for a year. 

Lazio striker Caicedo snubs Qatar move

Lazio striker Felipe Caicedo has rejected an offer to join Qatari side Al Gharafa, Tutto Mercato Web says.

The 31-year-old joined the Italian side two years ago and has made 72 appearances for the club, though he has featured just once this season.

The Ecuador international will be a free agent at the end of the season and he looks set to stay in Italy until at least January.

Napoli target Edouard happy at Celtic

Celtic star Odsonne Edouard has distanced himself from suggestions he could be on his way to Napoli in a £30 million ($37.2m) move.

The Italian side are reportedly lining up a bid for him, but the striker insists he is not leaving this season.

"I've got a long contract, I'm really happy with the way I'm playing, the set-up here and I'm really happy to play with my friends for the team," he said on Tuesday.

Cornet to sign Lyon extension

Man Utd target Fernandes agrees new Sporting deal

Sporting are hoping to warn off January offers for Bruno Fernandes by committing the midfielder to a new contract.

The Portuguese side managed to hold on to their star man despite interest from several clubs, with Manchester United leading the chase.

The Premier League side are expected to return for him in the winter transfer window, along with competition from other teams in Europe.

But A Bola reports that the 25-year-old has agreed to sign a new contract that will see his salary raised to €2 million per season after tax.

However, the length of his deal has not been extended, as his contract still runs to 2023.

Buendia dreaming of Argentina call-up

Norwich midfielder Emi Buendia is dreaming of a call-up to Argentina's senior side after impressing for the promoted Canaries so far this season.

Buendia was one of the stars of Norwich's 3-2 win over Manchester City at the weekend, a televised game which has boosted his international standing.

"I was lucky enough to play for the Under-20s in 2015. It was a dream to wear my country's shirt and obviously I wish I can play with them in the future," he told TYC Sports.

The 28-year-old is under contract at Goodison Park until 2022, but his chances of first-team football under Marco Silva appear slim.

The 21-year-old winger has been consistently linked with a move to a bigger club, but Barone told the Corriere dello Sport that the Serie A side are in no rush to renew his contract.

However, Barone did suggest Fiorentina are close to reaching an agreement for a renewal with 22-year-old midfielder Gaetano Castrovilli.
