Rudiger poised for big-money deal

Antonio Rudiger is ready to quit Chelsea and sign a mega-money deal with Bayern Munich or Juventus, according to the Mirror.

The German defender is out of contract at the of the season so can open talks with foreign clubs over a free transfer move from January.

The 28-year-old has been offered a new deal by Chelsea but it is considerably less than what he hopes to earn by moving on, where he could sign a deal worth around £400,000 a week.

Bruce not thinking of ASM sale

Steve Bruce says he has no intention of allowin Allan Saint-Maximin to leave Newcastle in January.

Interest in the French winger has grown after a fine start to the season and speculation of a winter move is on the rise.

Owner Mike Ashley has been known to allow big-name players to leave in January if the price is right, but Bruce says Saint-Maximin is going nowhere.

"I haven't even had that conversation and I don't want that conversation as you can imagine. Look we don't want to lose our best players," he told the Chronicle.

Club president Joan Laporta has decided against making a change for now after he held talks with the Dutchman following the midweek goalless draw against Cadiz.

However, next three games against Levante, Benfica and Atletico Madrid will decide his fate, with the Blaugrana in need of wins in both La Liga and the Champions League.

Werner cancelled Bayern move in 2019

Timo Werner signed a pre-contract agreement with Bayern Munich in 2019 before he insisted the deal be cancelled after learning he wasn't wanted by senior Bayern figures, Goal and SPOX can confirm.

Werner, then with RB Leipzig, was on a contract that expired in 2020, and was eyeing a move away as a free agent.

But the forward learned that then-Bayern manager Niko Kovac and sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic were not keen on his services, causing him to tell his agent Karl-Heinz Forster to cancel the deal.

Everton set to spend in January

Everton boss Rafael Benitez says the club will be able to bring in new players in January following the departure of James Rodriguez.

The Colombian, who was the Toffees' highest earner, left for Qatari club Al Rayyan on Thursday and Benitez says he now has the green light to spend following talks with owner Farhad Moshiri.

“I had that conversation yesterday with Mr Moshiri. It's just to be sure we do things the right way, they are very keen to spend the money and improve the team," said the Spaniard.

Brandon Williams says it was the right time to leave Manchester United in search of first team football after joining Norwich on loan this summer.

Left-back Williams told Sky Sports: "It's been really good to learn a new playing style, he [Norwich boss Daniel Farke] has been making me stay on the training ground to learn things.

The Belgium manager is Barca's No 1 choice after they decided to dispense with Ronald Koeman at the first opportunity. They are so keen on Martinez, they are willing to wait until after he leads the Red Devils to the UEFA Nations League finals in October.

Martinez likewise wants to move to Barcelona, and has informed the Belgian FA about his intentions.

Fruchtl and Tillman sign new Bayern contracts

Bayern Munich has extended the contracts of Christian Fruchtl to 2023 and Malik Tillman until 2024.

Goalkeeper Fruchtl, 21, and 19-year-old striker Tillman are both yet to make their senior debuts for the club but are regarded as promising prospects for the future.
