KCB stun KPL giants to lift Kariobangi Sharks open tourney

National Super League side, KCB are the winners of the inaugural Kariobangi Sharks open tournament.

The Bankers topped the standing with nine points, ahead of KPL opponents Mathare United, Bandari and Kariobangi Sharks.

Ten-man KCB beat Mathare 1-0 in the last match that also saw Simon Abuko sent off for unsporting behaviour.

Mathare United also finished the game with two men less after goalkeeper, Wycliffe Kasaya and Johnstone Omurwa were sent off in the second half.

Bandari missed a chance to finish top after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Kibera Allstars.

The Dockers beat hosts Sharks 3-2 before forcing a 2-1 win over KCB, then fell 2-1 to Mathare United in the third match.

Mathare United came second with seven points while Bandari finished third with same points but with inferior goal difference, ahead of Sharks and Kibera Allstars.
