Edwards confirms negotiations to acquire Ghaddar's services have started

Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) through Alistair Edwards today confirmed that they have submitted a bid for Kelantan's Mohammed Ghaddar and the reigning Super League champions are positive that it will be an outcome which suits all parties.

Edwards who is JDT's Sports Director released the statement through Johor Southern Tigers facebook page, indicating that negotiations have kicked off and confirmed that the 33-year-old Lebanese striker is the target for JDT in this mid-season transfer window that opens today.

"We as the management of Johor Darul Ta'zim Football Club had sent official offer letter to Kelantan Football Association (KAFA) from the beginning to acquire the service of the Kelantan player, Mohammed Ghaddar."

"The deal is still under negotiation and will be a win-win situation for all concerned with this deal becoming the highest domestic transfer in Malaysian football history. 

"This is a good deal for both clubs, as Kelantan will be able to settle their financial issues and purchase new players and JDT will get an excellent player who has a proven track record and is hungry for success," said Edwards in his statement.

Kelantan had earlier been put under a transfer ban due to their irregularities in conforming to the M-League registration rules but this possible transfer could give them the relieve they need from the financial aspect. 

Supposing the deal is as big as Edwards suggests, then the Red Warriors would not only be able to improve their finances but also allow them the opportunity to address the deficiencies in their squad for the remaining league and Malaysia Cup challenges that lie ahead.
