The Blues man finds himself in football limbo after failing to secure a summer loan and may decide to head home during the January transfer window

Chelsea winger Lucas Piazon is wanted by Corinthians, Goal understands, with it possible that the Brazilian side may be able to wrap up a permanent deal as his contract at Stamford Bridge runs down.

Piazon was at Fulham during the 2017-18 campaign, as they secured promotion to the Premier League, but Slavisa Jokanovic's side opted not to sign a loan star of two years on a permanent basis as they pursued more high profile targets.

Sheffield Wednesday and Olympiakos then saw late loan moves rejected by the 24-year-old in the summer transfer window, with Corinthians now the latest club to express an interest in adding him to their ranks.

Maurizio Sarri has opted against using Piazon in competitive matches this season and left him out of his Europa League squad, despite using him in all of his pre-season games from the bench.

The Brazilian forward was highly rated upon signing for the Blues and made three appearances for the first team before moving on loan to five different clubs over the course of his seven-year spell in west London.

Chelsea now appear ready to part with Piazon and are unlikely to secure a significant transfer fee, with his contract expiring in June 2019.

He remains a member of the first team group and has a strong relationship with the Brazilian players at the club, including summer signing Jorginho, but he may opt to head home when the next window of opportunity presents itself.
