Saudi club Al-Ahli are close to losing another foreign player during the current summer transfer window, following Algerian winger Riyad Mahrez and Ivorian midfielder Franck Kessié.
Al-Ahli had terminated Mahrez's contract a season before its expiry. They also let Kessié go, choosing not to renew his deal after it ended at the close of last season.
Trusted journalist Sacha Tavolieri says a third foreign player will leave Al-Ahli this summer: Belgian full-back Matteo Dams.
In a tweet on his personal account on the platform "X", Tavolieri explained that Dams will move to Belgian club Club Brugge within 48 hours, once all parties have finalised the agreement.
The switch takes Dams back to Belgium after 12 years away. He left as a young player in Antwerp's academy, then moved to Dutch club PSV Eindhoven, where he stayed until his transfer to Al-Ahli in January 2025.
Since then, the 22-year-old has featured in 38 matches for the club across various competitions. He failed to score, though he did provide 3 assists.
