    WHAT HAPPENED?

Burton had been Phil Parkinson's second choice as goalkeeper at Wrexham this season, however, the 28-year-old was forced into becoming the Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney-owned side's number one after Arthur Okonkwo suffered a broken wrist early in November in the Red Dragons' 1-0 win over Mansfield Town.

    WHAT PARKINSON SAID

Speaking to the media, Parkinson said: "It's very bad news. It's going to be a long injury, it could be the season.

"One moment, Callum's tore his thigh and I am just really disappointed for him."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Okonkwo has already missed five games for Wrexham and Parkinson has revealed that the 23-year-old is still a long way off making a return to action. He said: "Arthur's quite a way off yet. He's got another specialist appointment before Christmas."

  • WHAT NEXT FOR WREXHAM?

The Red Dragons will now have to trust 38-year-old Mark Howard in goal. The veteran had not started a league game in almost 12 months until lining up against Burton Albion. Hence, Wrexham have signed Brad Foster as goalkeeper cover on a short-term contract.
