Dyer’s father Danny, who is a passionate Hammers fan, has poked fun at the nerves Bowen experienced when tying the knot with his reality TV star partner. The 28-year-old admits that he experienced a rollercoaster of highs and lows.

  • WHAT BOWEN SAID

Bowen was initially left wondering what all of the fuss was about, telling the Ironcast podcast of having to fill time before the main event got underway: “She turned up - that's always the main thing. We got there the night before and I felt like I was waiting for something.

“Even on the morning of it, me and my mates, the best man and the ushers were wondering what we were going to do. We were a bit bored to be honest. Dani was getting ready and we couldn't see each other; my family were there.”

    DID YOU KNOW?

Bowen went on to say, with emotion eventually spilling out of the 28-year-old forward: “There was a little spa bit, so we had a little bit of a pamper morning. All of a sudden then bang, people were here. It finally got to me a little bit because people were coming up to me, seeing my mum and dad were all dressed up for me, my brothers, the kids as well.

“And then it was hitting me on the aisle. You think you're fine, but until you're in that moment. I think someone turned the hay-fever up! It was a top, top day.”

  • WHAT NEXT?

Bowen and Dyer enjoyed a brief honeymoon in Italy, where they experienced some inclement weather, before returning to everyday life as a married couple. Bowen is back in action with West Ham, while Dyer is preparing to take part in the 2025 edition of Strictly Come Dancing.
