The Argentine icon has always been renowned for his quick feet, with opponents often left trailing on his wake as they chase after the shadows that he leaves behind. Dutch racing sensation Verstappen does likewise on the track, with his collection of Formula One world titles standing at three and counting.

The F1 world championship recently passed through Florida, where Messi now plies his trade in MLS, and a ride similar to the ones on show that day has been presented to a global superstar in the footballing ranks – with Messi saying in a social media post: “Found the car with the speed I'm looking for. Found the ride that matches my fast.”

Messi was supposed to be heading out on the road this weekend, as Inter Miami ready themselves for a meeting with the Vancouver Whitecaps, but the all-time great is expected to sit that game out as the Herons take no risks on his fitness with more important MLS fixtures and the Copa America fast approaching.
