Antonio Silva gave away possession near the centre circle which allowed Georgia to spring a counterattack. Georges Mikautadze had acres of space to run in front and at the right time he passed it onto Kvaratskhelia who had enough pace to beat Silva and then fire a low shot past Diogo Costa in the far corner.

It was sloppy for Silva to lose possession and he did not have the pace to recover as Kvaratskhelia galloped forward. Georgia took just 92 seconds to score which is the fastest goal Portugal have conceded in the history of the European Championship.

Portugal have dominated after falling behind and it remains to be seen if Ronaldo can inspire the Selecao to another comeback. The 2016 European winners have already qualified for the knockout rounds irrespective of the result of this match.
