'That's my responsibility' - Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou reveals stance on beating Manchester City even if it hands Arsenal the Premier League title

The Premier League title race is heading towards an exciting climax as Arsenal and Manchester City go for glory. Tottenham could have a big say in where the trophy ends up as they are set to take on Pep Guardiola's side on Tuesday. Victory for Spurs could effectively hand their north London rivals a first league title since 2004, but Postecoglou has insisted his team won't roll over against the defending champions.

He told reporters: "I’m here fighting tooth and nail every single day for everything I can get for this football club because that’s my responsibility. I would not give up on any cause even the most lost of causes because then I’d be abstaining from my responsibilities. I want us to finish the season strong. I want us to try and win three games of football and see where that takes us.”

Tottenham are set to play Burnley on Saturday before they host City and Postecoglou insisted his side haven't given up on the season despite suffering four defeats on the bounce. He added: "That’s a harsh term, give up. What does that mean I come in here at 12 o’clock, have a latte, go home and just let the guys train? I don’t give up on anything."

Victory for Tottenham over Burnley will see Vincent Kompany's side relegated from the Premier League. Burnley will also go down if Nottingham Forest beat Chelsea in the late kick-off.

Manchester City take on Fulham on Saturday and have the chance to leapfrog Arsenal in the table, with the Gunners not playing until Sunday when they face Manchester United at Old Trafford. Guardiola's side then finish off with games against Tottenham and West Ham, while Arsenal's final match of the season is against Everton.
