Rooney’s Plymouth Argyle have been struggling to find form this season as the Pilgrims sit at the bottom of the Championship standings following their 4-0 thumping at the hands of Frank Lampard’s Coventry City, who are currently midtable in the second tier of English football.

During the 4-0 drubbing at Coventry Building Society Arena, fans of the Sky Blues could be heard chanting "you're getting sacked in the morning," hinting at the sack rumours surrounding the Manchester United legend amid their dreadful form. Plymouth have only won four games this season and have not won any of their last five.

Plymouth have not won a single game in all competitions since the first week of November when they beat Portsmouth 1-0 at Home Park Stadium. The Pilgrims have just one win in their last 13 clashes in the Championship.

The Manchester United legend has remained adamant that his future is secure at Plymouth and claimed that he and the club are working towards solutions in the January transfer window, as they want to improve the situation at the club.
