Rebellion at Fenerbahce! Two ex-Premier League stars REFUSE to play for Jose Mourinho in final 2024-25 Turkish Super Lig match before making immediate exits from club
Two former Premier League stars refused to play for Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce in the final game of their season.
Edin Dzeko and Dusan Tadic were nowhere to be seen after announcing they would be leaving the club after the match against Konyaspor. The pair had been due to receive commemorative plaques on the pitch but decided that there was too much of a risk of fan unrest and that they would rather stay away after a disappointing campaign.

WHAT TADIC SAID
Tadic said in a statement: "It was a decision we made together with Dzeko not to play in the last match. We didn't want to damage Fenerbahce's image. The fans have always supported us. I would have preferred it to be in the stadium, but the ambiance is not very good at the moment. That's why it's better to be that way."
Tadic recently confirmed he would be interested in returning to Ajax under new manager John Heitinga, telling De Telegraaf: "It's my club, I'd come back for Heitinga." Edin Dzeko, meanwhile, has been linked with a move to Hajduk Split by multiple reports on the continent.
