<p>Sam Kerr, who is currently <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/sam-kerr-season-over-huge-blow-for-chelsea-star-player-acl-injury-blow-training-camp-morocco/blt836342f89a933560" target="_blank">out of action with an ACL injury</a>, attended West Ham United's Women's Super League clash against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday at Victoria Road to watch her fiancee Kristie Mewis make her debut for the Hammers. WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>After winning the NWSL 2023 title with Gotham FC, Mewis left the American club to <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/kristie-mewis-west-ham-uswnt-chelsea-fiancee-sam-kerr-wsl/blteab5536668a1c8b9#cs89ed840226a1bdac" target="_blank">join the WSL side</a> last month. The 32-year-old was introduced in the 62nd minute of the match when she replaced Honoka Hayashi. Eight minutes later, <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/watch-debut-assist-kristie-mewis-uswnt-star-tees-up-west-ham-team-mate-amber-tysiak-score-free-kick-wsl/blt3c91df3a83fee6b1#csa9c5793ffdc20b29" target="_blank">from her perfectly weighted free-kick</a>, Amber Tysiak scored the team's third goal to restore parity in the match. Jessica Naz, though later scored a fourth goal to seal three points for Spurs. </p>

The American player's switch to the London club now puts her in the same city as her fiancee. </p>
