Sancho swapped Manchester United for Chelsea on transfer deadline day (August 30) on a season-long loan, with an obligation to buy him permanently next summer for up to £25 million (€32m). After being unveiled at Stamford Bridge at the weekend, Blues supporters have got a glimpse of what he can do on the training pitch - with some claiming he has been "saved" from United's "graveyard".

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Sancho is looking to rebuild his career after a sorry spell at United following his £73m ($95.7m) move from Borussia Dortmund in 2021. A paltry 12 goals and six assists in 83 matches and a falling out with manager Erik ten Hag sum up his difficult time at Old Trafford, but now he has a chance to move on from that troublesome chapter and forge some success at Chelsea. The 24-year-old will also have his sights set on breaking back into the England setup ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

  • WHAT NEXT?

When the international break comes to an end next week, Sancho could make his Chelsea debut away to Bournemouth on September 14, or a week later at West Ham. Either way, the former Dortmund loanee will be itching to get game time and hit the ground running at the west London outfit.
