Millie Bright replaced by Arsenal's Lotte Wubben-Moy in England squad after Chelsea captain withdraws for 'extended period of recovery' ahead of upcoming Nations League matches

BBC Sport states that the 31-year-old will not feature in England's upcoming Nations League matches in order to take an extended break and allow a period of recovery following a long season. As a result, Arsenal defender Wubben-Moy has been called into Sarina Wiegman's squad for the Nations League games against Portugal and Spain.

Bright has played 43 times for Chelsea and the Lionesses this season, which has involved guiding the Blues to a domestic treble. The centre-back is a key player for England, and the main goal will be getting her fit and rested for this summer's European Championships in Switzerland in early July.

Wubben-Moy has 13 caps for England and will join the international squad with fellow Arsenal players Leah Williamson, Alessia Russo, Chloe Kelly, and Beth Mead on Tuesday after their Champions League triumph at the weekend.

England return to Nations League action on Friday against Portugal, before taking on World Champions Spain on June 3.
