    THE BIGGER PICTURE

As we have recently seen with Steven Bergwijn, Depay's move to Brazil may spell the end of his time playing in the Netherlands national team under Ronald Koeman. The head coach barred the former Ajax man for moving to the Saudi Pro League as he deemed the league uncompetitive.

Depay, who took in a disappointing two-year stint at Manchester United between 2015 and 2017, scored 13 goals in 40 appearances for Atletico Madrid. He was a regular part of the Netherlands squad, including during their recent Euro 2024 campaign.
