However, Sky Sportsreports that United have initiated with Fiorentina over the potential signing of Sofyan Amrabat, a player who would cost significantly less than Ugarte. Additionally, they continue to monitor the situation of Frenkie de Jong at Barcelona and could reignite their interest if the opportunity arises - given the financial struggles of the Catalan club.

Amid the uncertainty surrounding his future, Ugarte has been sidelined from PSG's first-team activities. He was noticeably absent from their squad for the Ligue 1 season opener against Le Havre and could well be kept out against Montpellier as well over the weekend.
