  • WHAT HAPPENED?

MLS is home to more of the highest valued soccer franchises than any other league in global soccer, according to Sportico'sannual rankings. North America's top flight has 19 of the top 50, and five of the top 20, eclipsing every other top division in world football.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Ranked at No. 16 in the world, LAFC is the most valuable MLS franchise with a valuation of $1.28B, with Inter Miami ($1.19B), LA Galaxy ($1.1B), Atlanta United ($1.08B) and NYCFC ($1B) all in the top 20.

The number is a slight decline from the mark of 20 from the 2024 rankings. However, club values have ballooned since then, with LAFC going from $1.15B to $1.28B in the space of 12 months.

MLS can’t match the revenue of top European clubs, but it has the advantage on cost controls, modern stadiums and a single-entity structure that fosters ownership collaboration. The lack of relegation also sets a floor for MLS values that has risen dramatically over the past decade.
