Former Germany international Dietmar Hamann has praised Jobe’s rise through the English football system, calling him a “determined and fearless” young player.
In his column for Sky Sports, Hamann wrote: "He's a very talented player who is in the playoffs for promotion to the Premier League with AFC Sunderland. The English second tier is one of the toughest leagues in Europe. Physicality is paramount in the Championship. It takes determination and character to make it there, and he achieved that as a young player. Once he's played there for two years and scored goals, nothing will scare him in the Bundesliga."
Hamann also noted Dortmund’s recent success with English talents, pointing to the likes of Jude, Jadon Sancho and Jamie Gittens as examples of players who thrived in Dortmund’s environment.
"BVB has had very positive experiences with Jude Bellingham, Sancho, and Gittens. Jobe Bellingham could help BVB with his qualities. Let's hope for Dortmund's sake that they get him," he wrote.
