WHAT HAPPENED?
The former Manchester United star confirmed the operation on his meniscus in his knee was a success and now he will begin his recovery efforts, with the 31-year-old expected to be fit again in mid-May. The ex-England international thanked well-wishers for their support and appeared to be positive about the future.

WHAT JESSE LINGARD SAID
Before the operation, he wrote in an Instagram story: "Back stronger. Positive vibes," and then later posted: "Successful surgery on my meniscus, thank you for all the messages ❤️ everything happens for a reason."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Lingard sealed a shock move to FC Seoul in February but so far he has been repeatedly lambasted by manager Kim Gi-dong. Initially, the attacking midfielder's work rate was criticised and then he was told he "isn't a football player" as he doesn't run enough. It's been an ignominious start for the former West Ham loanee and yet again it seems his career is on a downward spiral.
