    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Mbappe took to X on Monday afternoon to dismiss the report as "fake news", and said he isn't surprised by the timing of it. On Tuesday, a hearing will take place into £46 million (€55m) that Paris Saint-Germain have been ordered to pay Mbappe in unpaid bonuses and wages.

  • WHAT MBAPPE SAID

Mbappe wrote: "FAKE NEWS !!!! It's becoming so predictable, just before the hearing as if by chance."

    WHAT NEXT FOR MBAPPE?

Mbappe, who courted some controversy for his Sweden visit by attending a nightclub on the same night that France played Israel in the Nations League, will look to move on from a difficult few weeks. He suffered an injury while playing for Real Madrid last month but was able to play in their last game before the international break and, of course, take in a trip to Stockholm, leading to questions over his commitment to Les Bleus. He will look to put all this behind him when Real Madrid face Celta Vigo on Saturday evening.
