Cristiano Ronaldo backed for sensational return to Man Utd despite acrimonious Old Trafford exit under Erik ten Hag

Ronaldo moved back to Manchester United from Juventus in the summer of 2021, however, his much-hyped move lasted for just 15 months as he unceremoniously departed the club in November 2022 following a fallout with manager Erik ten Hag. The 39-year-old then moved to the Saudi Pro League in January 2023 and has been plying his trade with Al-Nassr in the Middle East since then. He was the league's top goalscorer in the 2023-24 campaign.

Ex-United and France striker Saha recently opened up about his former teammate as he backed the Portuguese to return to Old Trafford in future in the capacity of the manager. He even believes that Ronaldo will become a very good manager, however, he needs to change his attitude for that.

Speaking to TVSporten, Saha said, "Cristiano Ronaldo has the passion and dedication to return to Manchester United one day, that could be as a coach or even a manager. His second spell didn’t end how everyone had hoped and you can see why that frustrated him, he didn’t see the same formula and didn’t see the passion from young players that he had been used to seeing.

"Now he will know that he needs to find a new way to communicate when he becomes a coach, which maybe isn’t as harsh or direct as it was when he was at the club. He will work out how to be successful and use all his knowledge to do that, we’ve seen Roy Keane go into management and have success. Cristiano will understand what he needs to do as a manager and I see no reason why he wouldn’t be a success."

The Real Madrid legend started the new season on a disappointing note as Al-Nassr went down 4-1 against Al-Hilal in the Saudi Super Cup. He will be next seen in action on Thursday as Al-Nassr face Al-Raed in their Saudi Pro League opener.
