Cristiano Ronaldo all smiles as he dines with partner Georgina Rodriguez amid speculation of sensational U-turn on Al-Nassr future

Rodriguez posted an image of the legendary forward on Instagram amid a week of intense speculation about his future. Reports state that Ronaldo looks set to stay with Saudi club Al-Nassr having initially hinted he may move on from the club.

Ronaldo posted on Instagram that "the chapter is over" after Al-Nassr's final game of the Saudi Pro League season, prompting speculation that he was set to be on the move. However, Foot Mercato claim a "full agreement" is in place to renew with the club and that he has already penned a new deal.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino also fanned the flames when he claimed that Ronaldo might play at the Club World Cup, which begins next month, despite Al-Nassr not being involved. Infantino told YouTuber Speed that there was possibility the Portugal international could feature, though that could be facilitated via a loan move rather than a permanent switch from the Saudi club.

Whether Ronaldo does make a short-term switch in order to feature in the competition in June and July remains to be seen, but it appears likely his long-term future remains in the Saudi Pro League.
